Joe
Fuchs, Owner/Director
Welcome
to Bikram Yoga Claremont! I first studied with Bikram in
1975 shortly after Bikram came to the United States. I intensified
my practice when I joined Val Sklar’s Pasadena studio
in 1999. After 2 years I enrolled in Bikram’s Teacher
Training Course, earning my certification in June 2002.
I taught at the Pasadena, South Pasadena and La Canada studios
over the next year before beginning renovation in Claremont
in May 2003.
I
retired from my career position as Director of the Brand
Library and Art Galleries in Glendale, California in order
to enroll in the Bikram Teacher Program. I had worked there
for 20 years. I had worked previously as a library manager
in Pasadena and at Occidental College before going to Glendale.
I received a BA in English Literature from Yale University
as well as a Master of Music degree from Yale and a Master
of Library Science degree from UCLA. I have taught voice
and concertized in California and on the East Coast. For
6 years I held the position of soloist and assistant director
of the Caltech Men’s Glee Club.
I’ve
been luckier than a lot of people; I’ve never had
a serious injury or illness. However, at the time I joined
the Pasadena studio in 1999, I was dealing with a toxic
work environment and the rewards I received from the yoga
practice enabled me to resolve much of the stress I was
under. Now, at the age of 55, I feel stronger and more energetic
than at any time in my life I can remember. I consider myself
blessed to have had Bikram Yoga in my life for the last
28 years and to be able at this time to work in such a nourishing
atmosphere with such an incredible team of teachers and
students as we have built here at Bikram Yoga Claremont.

Merrylees
Carol’s
first yoga teacher, Mara Carrico, author of Yoga Journal’s
Yoga Basics, planted the yoga seed very quickly. Carol
credits Mara for her strong foundation in yoga. Carol
began her yoga practice in 1977 with Mara at the Glendale
YWCA, dedicating numerous hours to mastering her practice.
However, in 1979 she discovered Bikram’s Beginning
Yoga Class in Glendale and knew that she had found a life
long practice that would keep her both emotionally and
physically fit.
Carol
has been teaching hatha yoga since fall 1995. In her pursuit
of and dedication to imparting the gift of yoga to her
students, Carol completed her certification training in
August 1999 with Bikram at the Yoga College of India,
Beverly Hills, CA.
Carol
is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance at

me to stay clear in the thingsI want to achieve in life. When I'm not teaching or taking yoga I'm working on my musical
projects or spending time with my Husband, Dog Manchie and Cat Bella.

Before taking Bikram, I thought yoga would be just chanting and breathing and maybe a little stretching here and there...
so i was surprised when my friend Heather told me she had lost close to 40lbs doing these Bikram Yoga classe, so I decided
to try them to see if I could loose a little weight. By the 5th class I'd lost some weight, but the weight wasn't even an
issue anymore, I felt stronger, straighter and more energized than ever. And best of all I started to enjoy living in my
body and appreaciating my body like never before. Bikram opened the door to all different sytles of yoga for me, as I explore
practice in different ways. I always come back to my bikram, nothing else compares to the feeling of release I get from the
heat and this amazing series. Most of all I feel very fortunate to get the chance to teach and share such a healing and uplifting practice. |

It is amazing how a decision can impact one's life so greatly. A small decision to try something new, YOGA - only an hour and a half of life. Making this decision brought such unexpected benefits that is hard to contain in words.
I want to thank all the amazing teachers at Bikram Yoga Claremont and specially Joe Fuchs who gave me an opportunity to experience this amazing world of Yoga.
Bikram Yoga is the very best thing you can do for your health, your body, your vitality, and your sense of well-being. |

Bruce
has been practicing yoga for 5 years. He began practicing
on his own but soon discovered Bikram Yoga in September
1999. Since that time he has found the source of his own
healing from within himself through a regular Bikram Yoga
practice. Suffering all his life with chronic knee and back
pain, sinus infections, and depression, he noticed a huge
difference after only 2 months of steady practice. In 2001
he was also diagnosed with a disease of the immune system,
but has remained free of toxic medicines thanks to the great
preventative effects of Bikram Yoga. He has been teaching
since November of 2002, using his experience to help others
realize the power of their own healing powers within themselves.

Jennifer
Wolverton
Hello,
everyone! I am Jennifer Wolverton and I’m from Minneapolis,
Minnesota. My sister, Jane, introduced me to Bikram Yoga
in 2001. I was just about ready to leave my professional
dancing hob with JAZZDANCE by Danny Burraczeski. However,
I was looking for something physically challenging and
healing to take its place. Jane had been telling me about
Bikram Yoga for several months. I finally joined her for
a class and was instantly hooked! A year later I was in
Los Angeles at the Bikram Teacher Certification Program.
I fell in love with California and the rest is history!
